Check three things: your device volume, that you clicked play inside the player, and — on iPhone — the ring/silent switch (web audio is muted by the silent switch). The sound fades in within a second of pressing play; the dots on the orb also pulse when audio is flowing.
Speakers are fine for everything except the Pulse layer (binaural beats), which needs stereo headphones — it plays a slightly different tone in each ear. On speakers, just slide Pulse to zero in the mixer.
